The Twenty-fourth International Course on Aseismic Design and Construction (CADAC/2005) was organized and realized by the Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology, (IZIIS), "SS Cyril and Methodius" University, Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, within the frameworks of the scientific and technical cooperation between the governments of the Royal Netherlands and Republic of Macedonia. The Course was organized in the period August 15 - October 28, 2005.
The CADAC/2005 course was attended by 20 participants from 13 countries from Asia, Africa, South America and Europe. In the beginning of the course, the participants had a unique opportunity to participate in the International Conference - Earthquake Engineering in 21th Century - organized by our institute on the occasion of 40 years of its existence.

From the almost three month experience of working with these participants, it is our pleasure to conclude that this has been a very successful generation, who have been very eager to acquire new knowledge through frequent discussions with the professors during the lectures and during their free time.

The 24-th International Course on Aseismic Design and Construction CADAC/2005 was successfully accomplished. The analysis of the questionnaires filled out by the participants proved the successful achievement of the main goal of the Course, which is transfer of knowledge as one of the most effective low cost measures of seismic protection. We do hope that Cadac/2005 participants will represent a worldwide spread network of missionaries contributing to the seismic safety and welfare of their countries.
Finally, it should be noted that it is a particular honour and pleasure to organize such an international course, which arouses a worldwide interest.
