The Twenty-fifth International Course on Aseismic Design and Construction (CADAC/2006) was organized by the Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology, (IZIIS), "SS Cyril and Methodius" University, Skopje, Republic of Macedonia. It is a traditional eleven-week Course organized annually in the period August - November, within the framework of the scientific and technical cooperation between the Government of the Kingdom of Netherlands and the Government of Republic of Macedonia. It is for the first time this year that additional fellowships for engineers from West Balkan were provided through the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) within the project "Building Regional Capacity for Disaster Prevention in Southeastern Europe".
The Twenty-fifth International Course on Aseismic Design and Construction (CADAC/2006) was organized in the period September 11- November 24, 2006. The CADAC/2006 course was attended by 29 participants from 20 countries from Asia, Africa, South America and Europe. Out of these, 18 were financed by the Netherlands' Government and 11 were financed by the Council of European Development Bank, (CEB).

From the almost three month experience of working with these participants, it is our pleasure to conclude that this has been a very successful generation, who have been very eager to acquire new knowledge through frequent discussions with the professors during the lectures and during their free time.
On 23rd November 2006, at the end of the Course, a closing ceremony was organized for the purpose of reporting the results from the final test by the Course Coordinator. At this ceremony, the candidates were awarded diplomas for attendance of the Course and diplomas on passed final test. To mark the 25th anniversary of this Course, the participants were also awarded:
- CD Rom containing materials per individual subjects of CADAC 2006;
- Specially prepared wooden diploma casings with the engraved IZIIS-CADAC logo and the name of the country the participant comes from;
- Souvenir - doll dressed in a hand made national costume;
- T-shirts with the IZIIS-CADAC logo

The 25-th International Course on Aseismic Design and Construction CADAC/2006 was successfully accomplished. The analysis of the questionnaires filled out by the participants proved successful achievement of the main goal of the Course, which is transfer of knowledge as one of the most effective low cost measure of seismic protection. We do hope that CADAC/2006 participants will represent a worldwide spread network of missionaries contributing to the seismic safety and welfare of their countries.
Finally, it should be noted that it is a particular honour and pleasure to organize such an international course which arouses a worldwide interest.
